High-school student and poet Sawyer Filson speaks of the importance of securing an outlet through which you can channel your true self. He believes that most people are lacking in that department and think less of themselves because of that fact. He goes over how poetry has affected his life; the stigma behind poetry; how many different forms it takes; and finally how others can attempt to find an outlet that fits them best. My name is Sawyer Filson. I grew up in Coolville OH with my mom and dad. I am a student at Federal Hocking High School, and active member of both the Mock Trial team, as well as Business Professionals of America. I started writing poetry around 2014, and since then my poetry has been nationally reviewed and has even won awards. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at [ Ссылка ]
