At Least 31 Shot Dead In Coordinated Attacks In Pakistan's Balochistan | Subscribe to Firstpost
Gunmen killed at least 31 people in Pakistan's Balochistan on August 26. According to senior Pakistani officials, one attack occurred early in the morning on a highway connecting Pakistan’s Punjab and Balochistan. The attackers blocked the highway, forcing passengers out of buses and identifying and shooting individuals from Punjab. Officials say at least 22 vehicles were inspected and at least 23 were shot dead. The victims included mostly labourers and two paramilitary soldiers. According to AFP, the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) claimed responsibility for the attack. It had earlier issued a warning for people to stay away from highways. Pakistan designates the group as a terrorist organisation. In Qalat, gunmen killed nine people, including four police officers and five passersby, while insurgents blew up a railway track in Bolan, attacked a police station in Mastung, and burned vehicles in Gwadar, all in Balochistan. No casualties were reported in the latter attacks.
