Uganda's main opposition leader Kizza Besigye has been arrested yet again as he was trying to leave is home near the capital, Kampala. Besigye has been under house arrest since the announcement of the 2016 election results on Saturday the 20th. Journalists of Associated Press say they saw Besigye being thrown into the back of a van and taken to an unknown location. One journalist is reported to have been pepper sprayed by a police officer. This latest arrest comes a day after Besigye called on his supporters to protest his detainment and the election results. Besigye had planned to visit the election commission's headquarters in Kampala on Monday to get detailed copies of the results from the country's presidential election. He has also been calling for an independent audit that includes members from the international community. Uganda's Electoral Commissions said on Saturday that incumbent, Yoweri Museveni had garnered 60.8% of the vote while Kizza Besigye came second with 35.4%.
