The GGCA is calling for Government engagement on the question of a pay increase for public sector workers - saying many people, especially in the lower grades, are feeling the pinch. This follows comments by the Minister for Financial Stability, Sir Joe Bossano, who told GBC government finances are worse than at any other point in his 50 years in Parliament, and that public service departments have not been sticking to the savings they were asked to make - with a pay increase for public sector workers therefore unlikely for some time.
GGCA President, Wendy Cumming, says the union understands that Gibraltar is in a difficult place economically, but that some of its members are finding it increasingly hard to make it to the end of the month - questioning too whether the cost of employing consultants could be related to overspending issues.
GBC reporter, Christina Cortes, spoke to Wendy Cumming.
