This lecture introduces the basics of mapping the Earth; including latitude, longitude, the Public land Survey, and looking at a few map projections. We discuss briefly Eratosthenes and his contribution to the grid system, we identify how to read latitude than longitude and even discuss the differences between decimal degrees and traditional degrees- minutes and seconds. This video also discusses how map projections are made and identify a few important projections.
