And the deal's been signed--
Japan's Toshiba is selling its chip business,... the second largest producer of NAND chips in the world,.... to a global consortium led by Bain Capital for 18 billion U.S. dollars ,... to secure the funds needed to stave off a potential delisting.
Bain's consortium includes firms like Korea's number two chipmaker SK Hynix, Apple and Dell,.. and now will take full charge of Toshiba's entire stake in its memory arm.
Toshiba will be selling its entire stake in Toshiba Memory to a specially set-up acquisition company called Pangea.
SK Hynix is injecting roughly three-and-a-half billion dollars in the plan, which will go to bonds... Toshiba will use the money to stem its losses and avoid delisting.”
