In this series of videos, a staff member of the Rural Community Assistance Partnership (RCAP) explains the technical steps in the process of treating drinking water at a treatment plant in layperson’s terms. They explain the typical ways that surface water is treated and delivered to customers. These videos were produced to assist leaders, board members and other decision-makers of drinking water utilities in small, rural communities in understanding what is involved and what it takes in terms of resources and expertise to produce drinking water for a community from the time it is taken from a source to the time it is delivered to customers. These leaders can then make more informed decisions about the operations, maintenance, and expansion of their drinking water infrastructure. These videos are part of a multimedia package and are attached to an animated diagram showing the steps in the treatment process available at rcap.org/animations/index2.html
