MEDITATION: THE PRACTICE OF BREATHING AND BODY POSTURE TO CULTIVATE ATTENTION
Meditation is the cultivation, protection, and care of attention because attention is the "sine qua non" condition of consciousness. It’s on the basis of any conventional cognitive faculty and also of consciousness, and awakened consciousness. Attention requires a resting mind. The secret to quieting the mind lies in the body: in its posture and in its most fundamental function: Breathing.
As human beings, we come into the world with certain innate capacities in our breathing, our posture, and our attitude towards life, that because of all the conditioning and fear, we lose very early in our childhood.
So, we forget how our body really works and how to use it, more so in modern societies where the average adult has a body full of locks, blocks, and rigidities.
Meditation is training, a practice. It’s an ancient technology, and a powerful tool to remember.
In this masterclass, our Master Instructors Anastasis Tzanis and Antonio Osorio, who have years of experience as Yoga and Zen Meditation instructors, will share useful and practical information on how you can use this ancient wisdom now scientifically explained, to restore your original and natural condition and to enjoy a better life.
Who is Antonio
Antonio has been studying with Patrick McKeown since 2017, and along with his son Lucas, was one of the first two certified OXYGEN ADVANTAGE® instructors in Colombia and Latin America and is also part of the first generation of Spanish-speaking Master Instructors.
He has been a Zen practitioner for 30 years, a practice in which breathing, body posture, attention, and concentration are its fundamental pillars. He has been teaching meditation and mindfulness practice for the past 20 years. He is the founder and director of www.respironautas.com
In recent years he has dedicated himself to researching, studying, and deepening everything related to the art and science of breathing, its importance, meaning, and application in all spiritual and initiatory traditions around the world, and its enormous power to restore, balance, and improve health and above all, physical, mental and emotional performance of human beings.
