Researchers from the Max Planck Institute for Solar System Research in Germany have discovered an exoplanet-star-pair. The exoplanet “KOI-456.04” is less than twice the size of Earth and it orbits a sun-like star called “Kepler-160.” It receives approximately 93% as much light as the Earth gets from the sun. The exoplanet-star-pair is more than 3,000 light-years away from the solar system. A light-year is equivalent to the distance that light travels in 1 year, which is nearly equal to 6 trillion miles. According to experts, the chances of KOI-456.04 being a pro planet are close to 85 percent. However, obtaining a formal planetary status requires the odds to be equal to 99 percent. The distance between the earth and the Sun is ideal for the existence of liquid water. The newly exoplanet-star-pair is quite similar to the Earth and the Sun in many other ways.
