The UK's railways have all but ground to a halt as four unions have staged a simultaneous 24-hour strike amid an ongoing dispute over pay and working conditions.
The latest strike, by members of the RMT, Aslef, Unite and TSSA unions, has caused the worst rail disruption of the year so far, with an estimated 11% of services running over the course of the day.
