After purchasing this pop up, the cable broke running to one of the corners. I took it to a local RV dealership and was Quoted 1200 bucks for parts and labor, And that only included the one cable they knew of and not including the entire system- they said I would be charged more if there were more parts that need to be replaced or repaired. So I decided to try the repair myself. I am very mechanically inept and not confident in dealing with any things of this sort. But with the help of a pop up camper group on Facebook, this is how far I've come.
I took out all the cabinets and drawers so I could access the entire cable system, and for a 28 year old camper there was a lot of dirt and gunk hidden away behind all these cabinets. So after shopvacking the entire inside I wiped down everything with Clorox wipes and made this video to show anyone that has this same lift problem what the layout looks like.
Also heard from a member of the popup group that the one bracket in this video which appears rusty and bent was an issue for other owners of this particular camper. I'm thinking that at the time of this posting, I will replace the 4 eyebolts, the 4 cables, not sure about the main cable from the winch just yet, but hoping I dont need to replace any of the corner brackets/pulleys that house the lift springs.
Thanks for stopping by. Hope this helps you.
