Servicemen of the 61st Infantry brigade shelled Russian invaders’ positions in the South of Ukraine.
Since the start of the Russian invasion, the Czech Republic has provided Ukraine with 20 120-mm MLRS 4D RM-70 “Vampire.”
The RM-70 Vampire multiple rocket launcher was developed in Czechoslovakia. In 2022, the Czech Republic donated to Ukraine an undisclosed number of these artillery systems.
The RM-70 (the NATO designation is M1972) is a heavier variant of the Soviet Grad multiple rocket launcher.
The Vampire is based on the Tatra 813 armoured chassis. This Czech MLRS has a launcher for 40 122-mm missiles. The vehicle provides enough space to carry 40 additional rockets for fast, automatic reloading.
Fire control is carried out from the cockpit or with the help of a portable device from the nearest shelter. These artillery systems help the Ukrainian Army to push back Russian invading troops on the occupied territories.
