A wax sculpture created by students of Haute École de Joaillerie under the direction of Cindy Chao was unveiled at the prestigious Louvre Museum during the Campus Louvre – La Nocturne event, an educational programme for the Parisian cultural scene.
Last September, jewellery artist Cindy Chao conducted a week-long workshop with twenty-eight students from the Haute École de Joaillerie in Paris. The workshop focused on “Cire Perdue,” a technique of wax sculpting for which Chao is widely known. Chao not only shared her practical knowledge and expertise but also imparted her avant-garde designs that blend traditional European craftsmanship with contemporary aesthetics. Throughout the workshop, students were able to hone their individual wax sculpting skills, which culminated in a combined and collaborative effort resulting in the magnificent sculpture showcased at the Campus Louvre event.
