Creating a Detail Gouge Profile

I have several spindle gouges and I've been wondering how to create a detail gouge profile on a couple of these.
I'm not sure if it is recommended to create a detail gouge profile on a spindle gouge, but I think that the main
criteria is to make sure the gouge has a shallow flute (though I could be wrong!).
It would be interesting to get feedback as to whether the method I used is considered acceptable.
Ah - and don't forget to hone before using!
