This is a slideshow about the life of Oscar Bridge, my great-grandfather. Oscar was born Dec. 1, 1918, in a house on the dirt road that became Route 66. He was a pilot in the South Pacific during World War II, and he wrote letters to Geneva Spencer, a nurse in Europe during the war. After the war, he married Geneva, and they had three children: Don, Betty (who is my grandmother and the narrator for this video) and Patty. Oscar held a variety of jobs, from president of oil companies to mayor of Chandler, Oklahoma. He continued to live an active life until his death on March 4, 2006, and he had a close bond with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
