In this Video, CA Perminder Singh Jee wants to tell you about, the e-verification process for Income Tax Return (ITR) in India involves verifying the authenticity of the filed tax return through various electronic methods. E-verification eliminates the need for sending a physical copy of ITR-V (Income Tax Return Verification) to the Centralized Processing Center (CPC) in Bengaluru.
E-filing of Income Tax Return (ITR): You need to file your income tax return electronically on the official income tax e-filing website ([ Ссылка ]). Make sure you select the appropriate ITR form based on your income sources and other criteria.
E-Verification Options: After successfully e-filing your ITR, you can choose one of the following methods for e-verification:
a. Aadhaar OTP (One-Time Password): If your mobile number is linked with your Aadhaar card, you can opt for Aadhaar OTP. An OTP will be sent to the registered mobile number, and you can use it to verify your ITR.
b. Net Banking: If you have an account with the banks that offer this service, you can log in to your net banking account and verify your ITR online.
c. Bank Account EVC: If your bank account is pre-validated on the e-filing website, you can use this method. The Income Tax Department will send an Electronic Verification Code (EVC) to your registered email or mobile number.
d. Demat Account EVC: If your demat account is pre-validated on the e-filing website, you can use this method. Similar to the bank account EVC, an EVC will be sent to your registered email or mobile number.
e. ATM EVC: You can generate an EVC by using your ATM card details (select banks provide this option).
f. Through EVC generated via the Income Tax Department's website: You can generate an EVC by logging in to the e-filing website and selecting the "Generate EVC" option.
g. EVC through the Income Tax Department's mobile app: If you have the department's mobile app, you can use it to generate an EVC.
h. Digital Signature Certificate (DSC): If you have a DSC, you can use it to digitally sign the ITR. This method is an alternative to e-verification, and it's often used by businesses and professionals.
E-Verify ITR: Once you choose any of the above methods and successfully verify your ITR, you will receive a confirmation message on the e-filing website. Your ITR will be considered verified, and you don't need to send a physical copy of ITR-V to the CPC.
Non-EVC Methods (For those not having access to the above options): If you don't have access to the above e-verification methods, you can still send the physical copy of ITR-V to the CPC through regular or speed post within 120 days from the date of e-filing. Make sure you sign the ITR-V in blue ink.
