In 2009, Screen Australia published a comprehensive guide titled Pathways & Protocols: A filmmaker's guide to working with Indigenous people, culture and concepts by Terri Janke. Both NZ Film and Screen Australia's Indigenous Branch have been industry models for successfully bridging the gap between Indigenous and non-Indigenous film communities. In Canada, this process is just beginning. Join us for an enlightening discussion on how to best to collaborate with Indigenous communities, addressing representation, consent, and reconciliation in film and a thoughtful look at the steps needed to get there.
