The goan recheado masala is very famous and you will find it in almost every house in Goa.
You can use this masala not only to fry mackerels and other fish, but you could also stuff some veggies with it and fry.
Sometimes I dilute the masala a little with water to make a curry paste and add sardines to it.
My videos are especially made for BEGINNERS. I love teaching the way I have learnt and survived.
To make the goan recheado masala you will need:
9 dry kashmiri 🌶s
Peppercorns
Half a stick of Cinnamon
6-7 Cloves
Garlic
Ginger
Salt
Half a bowl of synthetic vinegar,
3 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
Add all to a mixer and make a paste.
Store the masala in a container in the fridge. It will last long. Since it doesn't have any water added this can last outside the fridge too for few days.
Some people like adding a lil tamarind, turmeric powder and fenugreek seeds powder. It purely depends on your preference.
Few also roast an onion and add to the ingredients and make a paste.
🐟 Fish Preparation:
Prepare the fish by cleaning it and slicing it. Add salt and keep aside for marination for 30 minutes.
Apply the masala inside the sliced area and fry the fish till brown on both sides.
