This mission is a reference to "Crash", the fifty-third level of EDF 4.1, and also the one where Erginus was finally slain. It's a quick and dirty fight between giants, mano a mano. It even features the original mech from EDF 4.1, although amusingly, the radio commentary seems to imply it wasn't quite ready for battle yet. Based on an unused mission found in the game's files: M072_4.
