Full video of the 52" Roosterfish I caught while fishing at Los Buzos Kayak Fishing Lodge in Cambutal Panama on 8-5-2018.

This roosterfish was released to fight another day as none of the "trophy" fish are kept by Los Buzos. That said we caught many yellowfin tuna on my trip and enjoyed sushi, sashimi, and seared tuna cooked to perfection by the staff.

I've never felt a fish pull as hard as this Roosterfish. The Cubera Snapper is definitely a close second and might be even stronger pound for pound but my largest Cubera was 44" so I don't have a fair comparison.

Los Buzos is a full service kayak fishing lodge located in Cambutal Panama. They cater to extreme kayak fishermen looking for the adventure of a lifetime.

Common species caught are Roosterfish, Cubera Snapper, Yellowfin Tuna, Sailfish, Black Marlin, Grouper, Mahi Mahi, Wahoo, Almaco Jack and many more, all within a short peddle from the beach.

Hobie kayaks are provided in their all inclusive package. Quality fishing gear packages are available to rent. I used all rental gear on my trip and was very happy with the Penn Spinfisher V reels and Star Rods.

The lodge is perfect with great outdoor seating areas that encourage the group to get together and talk. I went with 6 strangers who all become friends during the trip.

Travel to Panama was easy especially since they use the US Dollar and customs was not a problem although I did hear of others having issues bringing certain fishing gear. Again, it is better to rent and travel light. I took only a carry on for my entire stay.
