Dr. Kavita Narang, a Fellow in the Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, reviews her article appearing in the August 2020 issue of Mayo Clinic Proceedings, where she examined the potential effects COVID-19 infection may have in pregnancy. Because of physiologic, metabolic, and vascular changes in normal and high-risk pregnancies, pregnant patients may be at higher risks for SARS-CoV-2 infection and pregnancy may modify/exacerbate the clinical presentation of COVID-19. If infected, pregnant patients may also experience increased risk of other pregnancy complications including preeclampsia and preterm birth. Available at: [ Ссылка ]
