Queensland’s Cross River Rail will not be operational until 2029.
Queensland Transport Minister Brent Mickelberg claims the tunnel along the line requires certification and will need at least two years to be completed.
The previous Labor government, who promised trains would be in service by 2026, has disputed the LNP’s claims of a cost blowout.
