On the 14 of September 1962, a dedicated group of Anglicans came together for the first meeting of Anglican Homes for the Aged, as Amana Living was then known.
Their mission was to create an organisation that would enable older people to remain in their community, supported by professionally trained staff.
Six decades later, we continue to realise the mission of our founders by supporting more than 6,700 older West Australians to lead fulfilling lives. From our first Anglican Home in 1965, we now operate more than 30 locations, including residential care, retirement villages and day clubs, as well as providing care to thousands of older people in the community.
In celebration of this achievement, we’d like to share with you the story of our past, as well as stories of staff and volunteers who have contributed to Amana Living in some way and the positive impact this has on the people we serve every day.
The longevity of our organisation is thanks to the passion and commitment of our staff and I’d like to take this opportunity to acknowledge their role in making Amana Living what is today, as well as helping to shape our future.
I’d also like to thank you for continuing to choose Amana Living to be a part of your life. We wouldn’t exist without you.
