When teachers create a classroom management plan that clearly outlines procedures and expectations for students, they set safe, predictable boundaries that help their students perform their best. It is important to communicate your classroom routines, rules, and consequences with intention and purpose. Having a plan for preventing off-task behavior and creating interventions before consequences are necessary allows you to correct student behavior while preserving rapport. Then, reward your students for what they do right to reinforce your positive teacher student relationships.

1) What does a classroom management plan contain, other than rules and consequences?
2) Why are intervention strategies important?
3) What should I do when I don’t know how to respond to student misbehavior?
