It was a long night in Egypt.
In the capital Cairo, crowds of demonstrators were fleeing as police sprayed them with tear gas. They ran through the streets near the Interior Ministry, many coughing and spluttering. Hundreds needed medical attention. Some were getting seen to quickly, nearby.
Fellow demonstrators did what they could to assist those who needed help.
Before dawn doctors reported that a protester died of wounds suffered from birdshot fired at close range.

People blamed police for failing to quell a riot at a soccer match Wednesday night, where 74 people were killed. Many were mad at the government, too and called on Field Marshall Hussein Tantawi to step down.
Unrest spread to Suez, where demonstrators faced off in front of police headquarters against lines of helmeted riot police holding shields. They chanted slogans and burned tyres in the road after news spread that one of the victims in the Port Said riot came from their city. Witnesses said police responded with tear gas and then opened fire, killing at least two people, according to a local health official.
Back in Cairo, clashes outside the Interior Ministry were continuing during the day, with demonstrators throwing stones and police lobbing some back. One protester was waving the flag of the Al-Ahly football club, whose fans were targeted in the stadium riot. Another demonstrator declared that Egypt has seen enough massacres, the ruling military council needs to step down.
