After months of speculation in Ottawa over a possible federal election, there's anticipation that call could come any day now.

For weeks, the Trudeau government has hinted at dropping the writ, with political parties already looking like they're kicking into high gear. For the governing Liberals, it could be an effort capitalize on the success seen by some of Canada's provinces, who gained majority governments after calling elections in this pandemic.
