Saint Secundus of Asti -
On this blessed day of March 30th 2024, we honour Saint Secundus of Asti, a venerable figure in Christian history whose life exemplifies steadfast faith and unwavering dedication to the Gospel message.
Saint Secundus, also known as San Secondo, lived during the early centuries of Christianity in the region of Asti, located in present-day Italy. While historical records about his life are scarce, his legacy endures through the accounts of his miraculous interventions and his enduring devotion to Christ.
Secundus was renowned for his compassion and selflessness, often tending to the needs of the poor and marginalised in his community. His acts of charity and kindness were a testament to his belief in the teachings of Jesus Christ, who instructed His followers to love one another as He has loved them.
Despite facing persecution and opposition for his Christian faith, Saint Secundus remained steadfast in his convictions, refusing to renounce his beliefs even in the face of adversity. His courage and resilience serve as an inspiration to all who strive to live out their faith authentically in a world that may not always understand or accept it.
In his own words, Saint Secundus once said, "Let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up."
