MOONG MILLET THALIPITH
Every Wednesday is a day of Moong at my home; this time mixing it up with Ragi, Jowar ans Gehu atta. Very nutritious, full of protein and flavorful. Good for health and 2 of these will make you full for couple of hours. Excellent choice for tiffin as well.
Ingredients :
1 cup whole Moong (soaked in water for 5-6 hours)
1/4 cup Finger Millet Flour (Ragi Atta)
1/4 cup Sorghum Flour (Jowar Atta)
1/4 cup Wheat Flour (Gehu Atta)
Chopped Ginger, Garlic & Green Chillies
1 tsp Cumin Seeds (Jeera)
Salt as per taste
2 spoon Water
Finely chopped Coriander Leaves
Finely chopped Onion
1 tsp White Sesame Seeds (Safed Til)
1 tsp Coriander Powder (Dhaniya Powder)
1 tsp Red Chilli Powder
1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder (Haldi)
1 tbs Oil + more Oil (for roasting)
Method :
In a mixer jar, take soaked Moong
Add chopped Ginger, Garlic & Green Chillies
Add 1 tsp Cumin Seeds (Jeera)
Add Salt as per taste
Add a little Water
Coarsely grind the mixture and transfer it in a mixing bowl
Add finely chopped Coriander Leaves
Add finely chopped Onion
Add 1 tsp White Sesame Seeds (Safed Til)
Add 1 tsp Coriander Powder (Dhaniya Powder)
Add 1 tsp Red Chilli Powder
Add 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
Add 1/4 cup Finger Millet Flour (Ragi Atta)
Add 1/4 cup Sorghum Flour (Jowar Atta)
Add 1/4 cup Wheat Flour
Mix it well with the help of spoon
Add 1 tbs Oil & combine well with hands
Place a muslin cloth on kitchen platform
Take a small portion of the dough on it
Flatten with the help of hand (apply a little water if needed)
Make small holes in thalipith
Heat the pan and brush some oil on it
Lift the thalipith along with cloth and place it on pan upside down
Remove the cloth then
Cook both the sides until nice golden-brown
Drizzle some Oil around
Enjoy with Curd & Pickle
