Went on a day trip to Lopburi to go to the annual King Narai Festival in late February 2020.

Stopped at the Pasak Chonlasit Dam on the way (not sunflower season) and
hung out with monkeys in Lopburi town before going to the super popular festival. There's a lot of food and entertainment at the festival and it's cool to be in the environment of the historic palace. Coming from Bangkok, you can drive, catch a minibus, or catch the train to the festival. Plenty of places to rent traditional costumes in Lopburi once you get there.

Fun Fact: This was about two weeks before the viral video of the crazy macaque brawl likely caused by lack of tourists (and resulting lack of food) during the coronavirus pandemic.
