I was very, very happy with todays deadlifting. i havent really been going all out on my deadlifts lately but i have been doing a lot to supplement them. i decided last minute that i was going to deadlift and just see where i was at. it will probably be about a month before i deadlift heavy again. Here are the sets and weights i did in this workout. The last 5 are on the video:
335 lbs x 3, 425 lbs x 3, 515 lbs x 3, 605 lbs x 3, 695 lbs x 1, 785 lbs x 1, 855 lbs x 1, 905 lbs x miss, 905 lbs x miss
Even though i missed the first 905 i was very happy with it. i have been concerned with my speed off the floor lately and this felt great, i havent attempted that weight in months, and if i didnt mess up on my grip, i might have had it. i know it doesnt make sense, but if you look at my first 905, you will see my left hand starts opening up pretty fast. This frustrated me because i was wearing straps!!! thats not supposed to happen hahaha. My grip may have been worn down from the hang snatches before it but it was still unacceptable. oh well, def next time. also, i shouldnt have even attempted the second 905, at that point i was worn down, took too long between sets and cooled down and had lost concentration. im mad at myself because i risked injury over a set that didnt need to be attempted. you live and you learn....
oh yea... and i was trying not to hitch haha....
