Endemic to the Himalayas in India and a few other Asian countries, these birds are exotic and splendorous creations of nature. The genders are effortlessly distinguishable as the males have glossy bluish-black plumage, while the females are overall brownish.
Kalij Pheasants were game birds earlier, and even after banning the activity, the birds have not been spared of poaching! On coming across various incidents hinting at illegal activity, 'On Nature's Duty' decided to address the situation.
