This video demonstrates a good version of how to prepare potato dumplings in a somewhat traditional fashion. This video captures the dumpling preparation itself and not a finished version. The addition of chopped bacon and onion is popular because these additions taste so good with most potato dumpling formulas. The cook may also add the onion and bacon on top of the finished dumpling as another way of incorporating those flavors. Going beyond that, there is a multitude of options that can be added to the final preparation and finishing of different potato dumpling preparations.
