Dhaka, July 10 (ANI): Bangladeshi Muslims have been visiting markets in droves in preparation of Eid-al-Fitr next week. In capital Dhaka, streets were full of people, many in cycle-rickshaws as they flocked to hawkers and shopping malls to buy new clothing ahead of the festival. The sale of the traditional sari drape saw a rise as Muslim women crowded stores. Salesmen were seen draping saris around themselves to entice women to buy the clothes. The festival of Eid al-Fitr marks the end of Ramadan and the beginning of the next lunar month called Shawwal. As part of the celebrations, Muslims buy new clothes, skullcaps, traditional Ramadan sweets and prayer material. However, the season also brought inconvenience to commuters who wanted to go home for Eid. Many were seen waiting in long lines to get tickets at railway stations. Eid will be celebrated across the globe on July 19.
