Other kits may work, however this kit is designed to work one vehicles with limited space in the door cards. It also has the ability to bend the powered shaft instead of having to keep it straight.

This is a basic guide on how you can install electric windows to almost any vehicle that doesn't have them. Today I installed them to my land rover defender 90, but I believe these kits would suit classic minis too. Although there are many different kits available, this is one of the few that would be suitable for defender doors, and other vehicles that have door cards close to the internal frame. These require little space, which is why the kit is so good. Unfortunately the kits retail at £160 for this style, but to me it was worth every penny, and gives your vehicle a much more elegant feel.
