Inherited DNA differences are hugely important in shaping all aspects of who we are; including our weight, intelligence, and even the likelihood of getting divorced. From a policy perspective, how do we take into account genetic variations when designing our policy interventions? Robert Plomin has been at the forefront of this research for more than thirty years and published over 800 academic papers on behavioural genetics, as well as his recent book, Blueprint: How DNA Makes Us Who We Are. In this session, Robert introduces the genetics of who we are and presents new evidence that shows how genetic variation influences behavioural characteristics.
