The Department of Correctional Services says it has dealt with important issues raised in the Public Protector's investigation report on rapist and murderer Thabo Bester's prison escape. The report has ordered the department to submit an action plan on the implementation of remedial actions.
Bester escaped from the then G4S run prison in Bloemfontein in May 2022 through what is believed to have been an escape aided by prison employees.
