This video illustrates a field trip up the humid slopes of Mount Cameroon, where Bioversity International forestry scientists went to see a demonstration of how to sustainably harvest the bark of African cherry tree (Prunus africana).
Bioversity International's forestry scientists and partners have been working on a project to reconstruct the migratory path of a lofty evergreen known scientifically as Prunus africana and create a composite picture of how its genetic profile adapted as it migrated and settled in isolated spots — high-elevation locations scattered across African mountain ranges.
