British Airways Boeing 747 G-BNLY - The Landor Retro Livery
A short cinematic film of G-BNLY - Landor. All footage is filmed with a Canon EOS C70 cinema camera with Canon RF 70-200 f2.8 L IS and EF 24-105 f/4 L IS USM lenses. Videos are processed in Adobe After Effects and then colour graded and produced in Adobe Premiere.
Boeing launched the refreshed 747 variant in 1984, known as the "300 series variant" at the time but then named as the -400 variant by the time of its first flight on April 29th 1989. British Airways was among the launch customers. It placed its initial order for 16 firm plus 12 options in August 1986 and again opted for Rolls-Royce power. British Airways' first two 747-400s were delivered together to the airline's London Heathrow base in July 1989. Ultimately, the airline took delivery of 57 new 747-400s.
G-BNLY was painted in the Landor paint scheme for the airline's 100th anniversary, the same scheme it was painted in when delivered to British Airways in 1993. After it retired due to the pandemic in 2020, it looked like the airframe was going to be scrapped. Luckily two British Airways engineers stepped in and filled the relevant paperwork. They were granted the aircraft as long as they could find a new home for it. Thankfully DUusfold Park and Aviation Filming gave it that home and the rest is history as they say.
This film was recorded at Dunsfold on 26 June 2021.
