My brother and I dedicated a day to surf fishing. We went out on the beach early one morning, took a break and fished the afternoon with some of our cousins. You can catch anything when fishing from the beach in North Carolina. Check out our surf fishing setup for fishing off the beach in North Carolina where we are targeting red fish, black drum, blue fish, sea mullet and whatever else is hungry. We used a mix of spinning reels from the Penn Spinfisher and Battle II series seven foot rods and with hi-low rigs attached, using circle hooks and khale hooks and shrimp as bait. The rods and reels are not the most perfect for beach fishing since we mostly fish from our boat, but we made it work. We also had some gotcha plugs that we threw out when the spanish and blues were running past.
