Echinacea purpurea is a wonderful garden plant as well as having medicinal qualities. Also known as the Purple Cone Flower, the main flowering period is in late summer it is easy to grow and comes in a number of flower colours including white and pink. Double flowering varieties are also available.
This a plant native to north America from Texas through to Mississippi. It is long flowering and drought tolerant once established.
