Caution: Although oxalic acid occurs naturally in many foods, excessive ingestion of oxalic acid or prolonged skin contact can be dangerous. Please educate yourself on proper precautions before use. E.g.; read about its toxicity at [ Ссылка ]. Central Maryland Beekeepers Association member Luke Goembel demonstrates how he makes an oxalic acid drip (or 'dribble') solution and then demonstrates how he treats a hive. This is a known, effective method used to reduce the varroa mite stress on hives. The method has been used by beekeepers in the U.S. and abroad for decades. Goembel usually treats his hives by oxalic acid drip before adding honey supers in spring, then after early summer honey harvest, in summer dearth if varroa are evident, then in fall before preparing the hives for overwintering. He has used this method of varroa control since 2009 and from 2009 to 2016 was able to keep bees without purchasing any additional bees since his initial purchase of two packages in 2009.
