The 05 is a rugged dry season only track that many avoid due to how rough it is. However it's also the most direct route between South Luangwa and the Great North Road and many great destinations beyond, so we decided to give it a try. I'd rate it similar in difficulty to Van Zyl's pass, IF you don't include the very steep decent at the end of Van Zyl's.

I put this video together so people could get a sense of what the road is like. We found it beutiful, and the hard part was fine as long as we kept it very slow and did not rush. You could see a few spots where people had scraped diffs on rocks on the way up, but the cruiser had no issue.
