There is not a peach in sight this year in the orchards of Stuart Gregg, a farmer in the southern US state of Georgia. Ninety percent of his prized peach crop has been decimated by an abnormally mild winter, followed by a cold snap. It is extremely unusual for the peach crop to fail so spectacularly in the so-called “peach state”. However, experts warn that, due to climate change, poor peach harvests could occur more often.
