About the Speech:
In an era where a growing number of voices oppose globalisation, Mr Lamy examined the likelihood of the emergence of a period of so-called ‘de-globalisation’. He analysed the tendency towards the rhetoric of trade protectionism and economic nationalism, and evaluated whether this trend will succeed in changing the course of economic, social and cultural integration.
