A strong cold front will continue moving south through Texas today and tonight. We'll see one more day of 'summer weather' across the southeastern half of Texas, but that'll come to an end once the cold front arrives at those respective locations over the next eighteen hours. Gusty northwest winds are expected behind the front, though the 'cooler' air may lag behind the initial front by a few hours. Folks will really be able to notice a temperature change by Saturday morning, and we'll see a repeat of last weekend's beautiful fall weather this weekend, too.
A #annularsolareclipse will move across Texas late tomorrow morning into the early afternoon hours. The annular eclipse will move from the Permian Basin southeast across the Concho Valley, Edwards Plateau, South-Central Texas, into the Coastal Bend. Those in the direct path will have most of the sun obscured, with only a 'ring' of light visible. Eyewear protection should be worn.
Those outside of the eclipse's path will still see a reduction in sunlight for a few hours on Saturday. Yes, we'll likely see temperatures drop a few degrees as the eclipse occurs and solar radiation levels decrease. Cloud cover may be an issue for West Texas and the Edwards Plateau parts. Some cloud cover is possible in the Coastal Bend, but the Concho Valley and Permian Basin should remain mostly clear.
High temperatures across Texas, beginning tomorrow through Tuesday, will be in the 60s, 70s. and 80s. A more substantial warmup will begin on Tuesday, ahead of a possible upper-level storm system for the second half of next week. Until then, widespread precipitation is not expected in Texas.
