4 weight acrylic yarn (or yarn of choice)
6mm knitting needles (or needles of choice)
Yarn needle
Scissors

Using the supplies above and working 20 cast on stitches and 22 rows (plus 1 cast off row) this square measures about 4 inches by 4 inches.
