This time we travelled to one of the biggest Engineer Marvels of Georgia.
The dam of this HP Station for many years holds the record of the 8-th Tallest concrete arch dam in the World. Located on the Enguri River marking the natural border between Georgia and Abkhazia this crucial piece of civil infrastructure after the collapse of the Soviet Union was disputed between those two. After nearly a decade of inactivity with the help of International Investments, it was refurbished and now covers nearly half of Georgia's electricity demand. Now the electricity produced by Enguri HPS is shared between Georgia (60%) and Abkhazia (40%).
