As we move around cities and buildings we experience architecture as a sequence of framed views. Simultaneously,
the appearances of architectural forms shift, according to daily patterns of light and weather. In addition, new environmentally responsive buildings allow architecture to actually move. The potential for buildings to be as dynamic as the human and environmental systems surrounding them is a potential game changer for the design of building facades. Inspired by precedents in kinetic art, this talk explores how movement has the power to enliven the public face of architecture.
