In the early morning hours of Saturday 30th March, we went over to Panteg to film a private charter called 'The Britannia Express'. The tour was travelling from Swansea to Sunderland, and it was top and tailed with Locomotive Services Limited (LSL) Class 47s.
D1944 & D1924 (47501 & 47810) were the locomotives top and tailing the train, where a steam engine will then take over for the journey from Crewe to York, before reverting back to diesel power from York to Sunderland.
The weather conditions in the Welsh Marches were very foggy indeed, as we couldn't even see the road bridge in the distance. But it did give us an advantage to film two BR-Green Class 47s coming out of the fog with a bit of first generation power on it.
