(13 Sep 2017) Romania's coast guard towed a boat carrying suspected migrants to shore in the Black Sea port of Constanta early on Wednesday.
The coast guard said it first spotted the vessel outside Romanian territorial waters east of the port of Midia on Tuesday morning.
It said the ship had sent out a radio distress signal and two coast guard boats were dispatched to the area to assist.
A senior coast guard official said initial investigations suggested there were 153 people on board the vessel, 53 of them children.
Migrants are increasingly trying to cross the Black Sea from Turkey to reach Romania.
